4.5 acres of excellent fishing
equal to it’s surroundings
Approximately 4.5 acres offering excellent fishing equal to it’s surroundings.
The lake has three islands and offers interesting features. Manor Lake’s clarity offers excellent stalking, and during the summer months the fish can often be seen patrolling the margins.
Approach with caution and use small weighted nymphs. Remember, if you can see them, chances are they will have seen you, so stay low. Short controlled and accurate casts are needed to temp these trout.
Generally though, Daddy Long legs, Hoppers, PTNs, Damsels and if you are really battling, Cats Whiskers usually do the trick. However, if you are unsure of what methods and flies to use, please feel free to ask one of our helpful Manningford Fishery staff for advice. We are always glad to be of assistance.

of Squires Copse Woodland

It is approximately 1.5 acres and the depth varies from 6 foot to 14 foot so fishing with longer leaders and nymphs (Bloodworm, PTN’s, Buzzers and Damsels) are often the methods of choice.
Squires fishes 5 rods comfortably and is an ideal venue for friends and small groups of anglers who wish to experience a more secluded fishing experience! Wildlife lives in abundance here and be sure to look out for the resident Buzzards, Red Kites, Kingfishers and Deer.
The pristine chalkstream waters of the River Avon are a delight for any river angler.
Manningford is high up the Avon Valley in the Pewsey Vale. Smaller, wilder and more intimate than the river further down the valley, the pristine chalkstream waters of the River Avon are a delight for any river angler.
Ideal for a light outfit, the river is the perfect opportunity for classic sight fishing with both nymphs and dry fly. There is often superb hatches of Mayfly and Hawthorn. The river has a natural head of brown trout and grayling.
The fishing is suitable for bank anglers and those who prefer to wade.
