Fed by the pristine waters of the Hampshire Avon, Manningford is one of Wiltshire’s best known fisheries. It is set in the heart of the Pewsey Vale and consists of our 4.5 acre Manor lake, our 1.3 acre Squires lake and our smaller “catch and release” lake. All contain an good head of Brown and Rainbow Trout stocked from around 2lb to high doubles. We also have 2 miles of single bank fishing on the famous River Avon. We have been fish farming in the South of England since 1976. Since taking over Manningford Trout Fishery and Farm we have grown the business to what is one of the most well known fisheries in the South of England. We have been fish farming in the South of England since 1976, primarily for the table markets. More recently, since taking over Manningford Trout Fishery and Farm we have been growing fish for restocking purposes.
Originating from a country lifestyle in the Midlands, the Fishery Technician Fen began his passion for fly fishing at the age of 7. With many years of consistently fishing on his weekends and evenings after school on small still waters, he progressed onto the Anglian Water reservoirs and qualified for the England Youth Fly Fishing team. After competing in three loch-style international championships and one world championships, he spent his next three years studying towards a BSc degree in Aquaculture and Fisheries Management at Sparsholt College.
With previous experience working with river keepers on the river Test as well as the rangers at Pitsford and Grafham Water reservoirs, Fen joined in August 2017.
We are keen to continue and expand our support of charities. If you would like to use our facilities to arrange a Charity day speak to us about how this can be organised.
